With that said, there are other crimes that encompass doxxing-related activities you should be aware of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"is-doxxing-illegal-in-arkansas\">Is Doxxing Illegal In Arkansas?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Doxxing, or the act of posting someone else\u2019s personal data without their authorization, is illegal in Arkansas, but only in the case of minors and only on social media (<a href=\"https:\/\/casetext.com\/statute\/arkansas-code-of-1987\/title-5-criminal-offenses\/subtitle-3-offenses-involving-families-dependents-etc\/chapter-27-offenses-against-children-or-incompetents\/subchapter-6-computer-crimes-against-minors\/section-5-27-610-unlawful-doxxing-of-minor-on-social-media-platform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arkansas Code \u00a7 5-27-610<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"240\" src=\"https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/media-55-1024x240.png\" alt=\"Arkansas doxxing law - Arkansas Code \u00a7 5-27-610\" class=\"wp-image-9873\" srcset=\"https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/media-55-1024x240.png 1024w, https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/media-55-300x70.png 300w, https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/media-55-768x180.png 768w, https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/media-55.png 1180w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In those situations, it\u2019s a Class A misdemeanor, with a maximum fine of $2,500 and the potential for up to a year in jail.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The charge and associated penalties escalate depending on the outcome of the doxxing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the minor experiences a monetary loss of between $500 and $10,000 due to being doxxed, it becomes a Class D felony punishable by up to six years imprisonment and\/or a fine of up to $10,000.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Should the minor experience physical injury as a result of being doxxed, or if they lose between $10,000 and $1,000,000, the perpetrator can be charged with a Class C felony, which comes with a penalty of 3-10 years in prison and\/or a fine of up to $10,000.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the doxxed minor dies or experiences more than $1,000,000 in financial losses, the offender can be charged with a Class B felony amounting to between 5 to 20 years in prison and\/or a fine of up to $15,000.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"doxxing-relates-activities-that-are-illegal-in-arkansas\">Doxxing-Relates Activities That Are Illegal In Arkansas&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While minors are the only ones who enjoy legal protection against doxxing in Colorado, there are doxxing-related activities that are illegal in the state regardless of who the victim is.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These include harassing communications, harassment, cyberbullying, communicating a false alarm, and stalking.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"harassing-communications\">Harassing communications&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Communicating with someone intending to \u201charass, annoy, or alarm\u201d them is illegal in Arkansas (<a href=\"https:\/\/casetext.com\/statute\/arkansas-code-of-1987\/title-5-criminal-offenses\/subtitle-6-offenses-against-public-health-safety-or-welfare\/chapter-71-riots-disorderly-conduct-etc\/subchapter-2-offenses-generally\/section-5-71-209-harassing-communications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ark. Code \u00a7 5-71-209<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this case, communications can come via online sources, including emails and direct messages, as well as by phone or text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"748\" src=\"https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/media-56-1024x748.png\" alt=\"Arkansas harassing communications law - Ark. Code \u00a7 5-71-217<\/a>) involves sending harassing communications with an intent to \u201cfrighten, coerce, intimidate, threaten, abuse, or harass\u201d the victim in a way that serves to further \u201csevere, repeated, or hostile behavior\u201d against them.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"236\" src=\"https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/media-58-1024x236.png\" alt=\"Arkansas cyberbullying law - Ark. Code \u00a7 5-71-217\" class=\"wp-image-9876\" srcset=\"https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/media-58-1024x236.png 1024w, https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/media-58-300x69.png 300w, https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/media-58-768x177.png 768w, https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/media-58.png 1138w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a Class B misdemeanor that comes with a fine of up to $1,000 and\/or 90 days in jail unless the victim is a school employee, in which case it\u2019s a Class A misdemeanor with an ensuing penalty of up to a year in jail and\/or a fine of up to $2,500.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"communicating-a-false-alarm\">Communicating a false alarm<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The act of <a href=\"https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/doxxing\/what-is-doxxing-and-swatting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">swatting<\/a> or making a false report to law enforcement to summon an emergency response against an unsuspecting victim is often the byproduct of doxxing.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Arkansas, this offense comes under \u201ccommunicating a false alarm\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/casetext.com\/statute\/arkansas-code-of-1987\/title-5-criminal-offenses\/subtitle-6-offenses-against-public-health-safety-or-welfare\/chapter-71-riots-disorderly-conduct-etc\/subchapter-2-offenses-generally\/section-5-71-210-communicating-a-false-alarm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ark. Alternatively, you can subscribe to a <a href=\"https:\/\/joindeleteme.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">data broker removal service such as DeleteMe<\/a> to handle data broker opt-outs for you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changing your social media privacy settings from public to private to limit who can see your posts and hide your biographical details from strangers.
