Notably, a significant breach in 2021 exposed the personal information of millions of customers, including names, social security numbers, and other sensitive data. A similar data breach took place in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The security company UpGuard gives T-Mobile a score of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upguard.com\/security-report\/t-mobile\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">812 out of 950<\/a>. This is a \u201cWarning,\u201d meaning that T-Mobile \u201cDoes not meet our recommendations for privacy and security practices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The top concerns noted by the Common Sense Privacy Program include personal information being sold or rented to third parties and shared for third-party marketing, the display of personalized ads, the collection of data by third parties for their own purposes, and the use of users\u2019 information to track and target ads on other sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-improve-your-safety-and-privacy-on-t-mobile\">How to Improve Your Safety and Privacy On T-Mobile<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow the steps below for a more private and secure experience while using T-Mobile.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Opt-out of data sharing. <\/strong>Log in to your T-Mobile account and navigate to the privacy settings. Opt out of data sharing for targeted advertising and other marketing purposes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Limit location data usage.<\/strong> Review apps and services that use your location data. Limit permissions to only when necessary to reduce unnecessary tracking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enable 2FA. <\/strong>Protect your T-Mobile account by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA).
